If they threaten Corey further more in any way I suggest that we launch a gigantic boycott of the 2003 launch.

Toyota 2003 4Runner embargo is ridicule. Its becoming a circus.

I talked to my dealer today and he told me to forget about the prices he gave me intially. They are reworking the pricing structure. The prices they gave me initially was positioning the sport model 1200$ from the Sequoia SR5. It was 2500$ more expensive than a Honda Pilot EX and 1000$ less than a Pathfinder LE (limited fully loaded). All prices CAD.

He told me to expect the interest rate to be way up there. Supply will be extremely limited (to create demand despite possible lack of interest from 4Runner buyers IMHO). Same thing is happening here for the PIlot (lukewarm reception here in Canada).

So I went to the Nissan dealer to check out the Pathfinder LE. So far, and using some reasonnable assumptions for the 4Runner, the Pathy LE would cost me 100$ less to lease a month than the 4Runner Sport. I think that current gen Pathy are reasonnable replacement for a 4Runner (considering my limited off-roading).

I think the 4Runner looks good only when the cladding and flares are the same color as the body. Otherwise it looks too plastic mainly for a car that expensive. But the Limited is too expensive for me, I have other priorities !!!!!.....

I have a free account with a server I use just for pics on the forums.

It's the server that Crypto set up for 3 of us last year or so.
No biggy to me, as I only used it for pics I posted on the forum.
I still have my 1 GB account with the server I pay for that hosts my website.

I was just going to take down the pics when I noticed my account was gone.
Like I said, no big deal.

It's a slow server anyway.
Looks like Toyota is pissed because these pics got out.

Maybe they were monitoring the forum and were getting tired of everyone bashing the Rav4 lookin', Avalanche cladding wearin', confusing rear end havin' 2003 4Runner. I hope nothing comes of this for you

She wrote me back. I don't think Toyota contacted the TOR host where I had the pics.
What I think happened was the 3.85 MB PDF file pissed the owner off because it was using a lot of bandwidth.
So I bet he acted on his own.
Who knows. It may have been another person at Toyota who asked for the TOR server to be shut down.

I am still waiting to hear from the TOR owner.

It could be that too much bandwidth was used, so the site shut down for awhile.

I mearly put up pics that someone passed on to me.
Same as you emailing me a pic or two and asking me to host it for you.

I had no idea they were copyrighted.

Oh, one more thing. She asked me to contact her next week.
I may be able to put the pics back up.
That must be when they lift the embargo.

It was good while it lasted. I had 115 downloads and 87,955 views of the 4runner pics I posted on webshots. Maybe Coeery you should post the pistures I took again to show them we have already seen the new runner.

 

My TOR account is back up, but he would not tell me why it was taken down.

If it had been due to bandwidth, I'm sure he would have told me so.
If Toyota did not write to him, perhaps someone that was jealous might have turned me in.
Very easy, all they have to do is look up the domain name of who my TOR account belongs to, and contact him and tell him I was hosting illegal pics.

If that was the case, I'd like to meet up with whoever did it.
I have a hunch who did it.
That person (if he did do it) is a whiner, and a trouble maker.

Looks like I'll be keeping my 2nd gen for as long as I can keep it on the road, or offroad. I really liked the idea of a gear to gear tranny/transfer, and Toys were the last to still build them.
