Brand new pics of 2003 4Runner

Yep, you heard it here first at YotaTech.
Paleeeeeeeenty of pics (36) and a PDF file.
I think the '03 rig looks a lot better with clearer pictures.
The navigation screen is out of this world, and there are even some actions shots too.

Me Like, Me want. Maybe for graduation, just depends, gotta see in person. So what makes it offroad caopable? The navigation that tells you where to go?

I hope I dont get flamed for this, but this thing doesnt even look a like should have the badge of a 4runner, like for example, in this pick you see all of toyota's SUV's but then there's 4runner right in the middle, doesnt even look like it belongs there!

Appears to have about 4 buttons on the left side of the steering wheel, could one of those or two actually control a locker????

Download the PDF file I have on page II.
It will explain all the bells & whistles, I think.
I have not had a chance to read the whole thing yet.

Nice pics, Corey. I like the all silver look a LOT!

At the end of page 1 it says click here for more pictures or the 2002 4Runner. You might want to change that.

Thanks for the pics.

Were those all taken in Oregon? Some look like in Depoe Bay or just past there at some state parks. I like the silver Limited. My wife liked the blue one we took pictures of. Well the price of the 1st and 2nd generation just went up,hehe.

Nice pictures Correy.

Thanks Hbum, just fixed that snafu
Paul, I'm not sure where they were taken.

You know, I do like the new rig. Some of the pics look really good.
I certainly would not try hard trails with it, but I would not be afraid to take it up to Greenwater on the trails I go on.

I like the nav system. I wonder if the screen can be hooked up to a PC that runs Topo software from a laptop.
That is something I am working on if I can locate a cheap laptop that at least has a CD ROM drive in it.

Thanks a bunch Corey.

At last decent pics !!!!!!!!

The look still needs to grow on me but it is getting better.

I have put a deposit on a Sport Edition (two-tone Silver/Charcoal) pretty much like the one you have on page 2.

Thanks again !!!

Here my $.03. The new pics do show it in a better light. BUT, It is just to durango like. Front spoiler looks Jeep Libertyish. Front end is Rav4 copy. Roof rack is from an Extera and we all know where that body armor look is from.

Clincher for me is the downward angle of the hood. The slope is just to much. Looking again it may be the slope of the windsheild that's throwing it off. This is the part that reminds me of a Durango. 2nd,and 3rd gens were more of a refined box which gave a more rugged look that the 4th is obviously missing.

To much of a hybrid of other popular looks marketing thought would work wraped into one for me. I'll take that V8 though.

At least is not a Pontiac Aztec. Right!

Corey,

Does this mean the embargo is over ???? Will toyota go public soon with this ????

How ligit is all this ?

The PDF is pretty heavy stuff. It also contains what could be restricted towards the end.

All we are messing now is : mileage info, pricing and how greedy Toyota will be (MSRP/Interest rate)

I think we just made them go public
Hey, a guy over on ODW pointed out that there is an FTP folder listed in the PDF file.

I just updated page II with the info.
Go into the 4Runner folder when you hit the FTP site, and there is a 35 MB Power Point slide show.

When you click on the Power Point file, save it.
Corey
PS, here is a pic from the PP file.
http://www.toyotaoffroad.net/tando/temp2/03_on_hill.jpg

It looks quite capable going up the hill.

Don't sugar coat it Sam, speak your mind. Thank you for not just drooling over it like every other time a new release comes down the road. Plus, since I have a brand new double cab, it doesn't matter what I think because I could not buy one if I wanted too.

Come to think of it, it does matter what I think of the new 4-Runner. Sam makes many very valid points, but they take all those things and make them look sooooo Toyota.

By the way, is that the same v8 that comes in the Tundra and Landcruiser? How sweet is that since the v8 supercharger just came out? Can anyone out there say 350 horsepower???

We live in a wonderful world where sport utilities can keep up with corvettes!

I agree that they do look better than the other pics. But a couple of things bother me:
1-the rear quarter portion of the 4Runner looks like a Jeep G.C.
2-What happened to the lever-style 4wd system, I hate the push button crap!!
3-Probably have to lift it quite a bit to fit 265's on it.

I think there's another feature being overlooked that will make the 03 even better off road than the 02 - the solid state wheel sensors. They'll be much faster to respond to variations in wheel speed and should make the electronic assists behave much more smoothly.

Clearance considerations aside, the 03 should be a big improvement over the 02 off road.

Did you notice that the hoods are now supported by struts? YAY!

Thanks for sharing the pics and info!

Inside and features: Very nice and about time on some features

Outside: Naaah.....too soft looking. Maybe with alot of aftermarket add ons. What's with the "Frontier" looking flares on the one model...

I'm with the mob...

Like the interior features, but the outside...

I *like* my barely refined box!!!!

So who's gonna take this puppy and
fake up a picture with an ARB or TJM
bumper set front and back, replace the roof rails with a jungle rack, and put some rock sliders on for good measure?

Oh, and a really nice set of dents, so I'll know what it looks like when *I* can afford one!

Corey, awesome find!
