Sorry, but I don't know what you're driving. I see mention of ABS so I'm assuming it's newer than an 80's model.
If he has ABS there is no LSPV.

One thing no one has suggested yet is brake lines. I noticed a small increase in pedal response when I replaced mine with stainless stell ones. Some people say that old rubber lines will swell up when pressurized. I don't know how much I buy that but it's a relatively inexpensive job. I did mine when I noticed that my rubber lines were cracking.

Hey sparks, there's no lspv on my model, so that's ruled out.

carsick, I bled the m/c. It's the first time I ever did it though, so I'm not sure how great a job I did. I was planning on doing it again after I installed it but never got around to it. It's something I'll do this spring, but I have a feeling I bled it well enough, and there won't be any change.

As far as the rubber brake lines, I've checked those for swelling also, and they all looked fine.

Dr Coffee, the fluid I'm using is valvoline. I'll think about changing that if it's an issue. If not, then I'd rather not. I've flushed and bled this thing so many times the past year I don't even want to see another bottle of brake fluid for a few years, or at least until I figure this problem out haha

cjm, I haven't tried adjusting the booster pushrod. What's the likelihood it would get this far out of adjustment with just everyday driving?

I've been keeping up with this forum for a while now as I'm having the same issue on a smaller scale.

After some research I was suspicious of the lspv until I heard the abs replaces this. And now the previous post confirms that.

Another solution I discovered on forums was that the abs actuator has to be bled at the dealership with special equipment, which seems to be a rare case. Another poster claimed he was able to fix the problem by activating his abs on a loose gravel road, then bleed the system as soon as possible afterwards.

I can't backup either of these ideas
