body lifts

Anyone know of any company that makes a 1" body lift for a 1998 4Runner? I was talking with Roger Brown last night and was wondering if his 97 kit would fit my 98. Anyone know if this is possible?

If anyone knows it would be Roger. I have one of his kits and found the install to be straightforward, with very detailed instructions. I imagine that if 4Crawler offroad, (Roger) can make a "97 4runner kit, he can make one for a "98.

Straight from Roger's site
84-'97 4WD 4Runner
1" - 3" on '84 -'89:
1" - 2" on '90 - '95: Leo Castenada is running a 1" body lift on his '95 automatic
1" on '96 - '97: Adam Fertig has a nice installation writeup
Bolt on 9th and 10th body mount brackets for '96 4Runner available for $60/pair
Note: 1" on '98 - present 4Runner possible except for front bumper
Doesn't look like you have the long nose bumper so I don't see a difference then the 97's?

EClayton08,
I guess you are looking at alot of custom brackets with your bumpers.

The only thing holding me back is the front bumper bracket and the transfer case lever. Once I get those things straightened out I am taking the plunge also.

Let us know how it turns out?

What's so hard about cutting a couple of square pieces of steel and drilling four holes in them?

Will I have to mod my front bumper since I have the rockware? I was just looking at a 1" body lift

It may have a small gap if you dont get brackets made.

gtpman98,
The only one that I know that lifted a 99+ 4Runner is Josh. (VaBeach99Jade) He said he welded the brackets for his bumper on his body lift. He was going to send me pics I will let you know when I get them.

After spending sometime under the front tonight I think I may have it down to a pair of bolt on plates to relocate them. It should be failry simple but I may have run into a snag with just one bolt. It may line up, it may not, then again you may not need it? If interested I can go into more detail, would be good to have other eyes look at the idea to find faults.

I am going to take measurements tomorrow and if things look alright then I might have them made to bolt on when I do the body lift.

Wish they didn't change the bumper mounts for the newer models.

No real way to make accurate measurements without taking the bumper off completely. I have next to no tools and even less space. I will fab something up after the lift and in the meantime drive around wtih the 3" gap.
