body lift???

body lift???
hey guys,
so i got a 1998 limited runner and i have already done the 3" toytec lift, 33" yoko geolandar M/T's and have some sliders welded up and ready to be put on. I have found when i am out that the 33" tires are rubbing quite a bit when my truck is flexing. So here comes the question...do i start cutting into my daily driver "limited" fender wells or do i do a small body lift, im thinking 1/2" to 1" max. I dont like the body lift because the center of gravity is raised and you have to change stock toyota engineering...which i dont like to do if i dont have too! so what do you guys think, who has been in this situation and how did you make it work? my truck is automatic, how much of a body lift can i do before i need to get somesort of shift lever adapter? i am torn here, but summer is coming and i plan on wheeling alot! thanks for any help that i can get guys!!

ok so this seems like what i gotta do then, i hate the rubbing more than anything that i have ever hated before! so now with the body lift...do i use the aluminum body lift pucks, or the plastic looking ones? is a poly bushing required to give it a comfortable ride? any little tips or tricks that i need to know about? i am gonna snap a few photos of a before and after, ill also include pics of the install as i go! thanks alot guys!

awsome man, do you know how long it takes to install? i got access to a shop with a lift and all the tools, but i just need to know how long i will need it, i will probably be ordering my kit on friday from you 4crawler

It took me 8 hours or so.. in my garage with a bottle jack and 2x4's.. I went with the 3" bodylift and polyeurathane kit with the grade 8 hardware and I'm pretty happy, just over $400 for everything. The body lift doesn't really raise the center of gravity too much since the body is relatively light compared to the heavy metal driveline components and frame. I also went and ordered the gap covers for the wheel wells from liftlips.com.

I bought my 1" body lift from WabFab and did it in my driveway alone in about 4 hours with no air tools. Very easy and what took me the longest was taking apart my T-15 to get to the front bolts. Do it, you'll be happy.

Did my 4Crawler 2" by myself in about 6 hours, including the time to fab up bumper brackets to raise the front bumper.
Just take your time, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS (Roger's write-ups are second to none), and you'll be fine.
