Black Headlights Installed (Before & After PICS!)
#62
Dude you and I think so much alike. I installed my black headlights that exact same day you did. I got them from burtman too! I am really diggin the black star wheels. I have gunmetal taco wheel on mine right now and Iam going for the all black theme too.
By the way did you have to aim thoes headlights, and how good of a beam pattern do you get with these new one and your HID's . I got a horrible beam pattern so I took them out and put stock ones it.

Man I tried taking the center piece out of my OEM's because I was going to swap it with black headlights, but I couldn't get it out... Yeah the beam pattern is horrible. I guess I'll have to put my OEM's in the oven so I can get that piece out.

As for Fo_Sheezy, I couldn't say why... although when I put some non-OEM 99-02 headlights on my truck the beam pattern sucked butt as well. That's what kinda gave me the final push to put some projectors in
I'd say for headlights stick with OEM. All the aftermarket lights I've seen have had horrible beam patterns.

So let me get this straight regarding these black headlights.....
Right out of the box, even though they look great, the beam pattern isn't right? And you can't adjust it at all to improve them any?
...or is it because you guys have HIDs in them? If they are normal lights in them, how are they???

Yea out of the box the beam pattern is that great. Its better with halogene bulbs than HIDs. The lights are sweet, but the other problem is that the adjusters are very cheap, they get broke easily.

IDK sheezy... the new blacks look nice but personally I think the old ones gave it some "sparkle"... and I still say you need those side repeaters c/w badges I pm'd you on... lol

mmmmm.... well, I'm not so sure I want this set then if that's the case. That's really too bad, I was looking forward to getting them.

You can fix the beam problem, just swap the center piece in your black headlights with the OEM pieces.
If you compare them, you will see that the piece in the black headlights covers up the bulb a lot more than the OEM ones, that's why I believe the beam pattern is so horrible.

Anyone with 20" rims should keep it on flat level ground. Leave the rock crawling/off roading to people with stock/steel rims and some sidewall!!
I know this might be an old thread, just saying your runner(s) look(ed) good fosheezy. I could NEVER own a black shiney vehicle and keep it half as good looking as that.

Bringing this thread back up again to see if anyone has more experience or opinions on these lights.
I've been looking at the set that Burtman sells, which I'm guessing is the same as the ones you guys bought?
Not willing to compromise with a sucky beam pattern just for the good looks. But d*** they do look good!
