Bilstein 5100 vs HD On a 4 4unner

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to know if there is any difference between regular blue and yellow Bilstein shocks vs the silver 5100 series shocks in terms of quality? durability and performance?

Thanks
Sajid

Hate the yellow ones (see sig)...but just my opinion...made my 4Runner handle unpredictably....Less controlled feeling towing and on dips, etc.

Don't know about the silver ones...but I will not buy another Bilstein product.

I liked my old stock shocks better...I will probably be replacing my almost new Bilsteins with Tokico Trekmasters this summer.

I love my Bilsteins. Well controlled over speed bumps & dips. I have the Yellow & Blue HD #F4-BE5-2450-H0 & #F4-BE5-2451-H0. Reading the comments from other people, I think it's important to match the springs & shocks. I believe that the chrome ones have the same internals & are designed for lifted vehicles.

Anybody else try the Billy 5125 shocks after having the 2451 shocks? My 2450/2451 shocks are worn out (on Performance Product springs) and I need replacements. This has been an excellent if not outstanding combination for me in the So Cal desert as in 50 MPH in the washes. The rear springs are sagging a bit but in my old age I'm afraid to get rid of something that works. It makes sense the 5125 is just a stretched out 2450 for lifts but that is speculation. I would appreciate posts from those who have actually used the 5125 and 2451 shocks.
