Bilstein 5100 front shocks, compatible with Downey front sus lift?
I received these shocks
Bilstein 5100 height adjustable front shocks, rear 95-04 Toyota Tacoma (#9504BILK)
and am in the process of having them installed. (2002 Taco 4X4 TRD X-Cab V6 manual trans.) My mechanic is good.
The rears are in - no prob. But he said the front shocks, if he were to put them in, look like a little clip is all that holds them in, whereas the MV12's (or whatever they're called) that I got from Downey shipped w/the kit back in 2004 are secured with a large nut. My guy said he doesn't think the clip will stay secure over time, and with rust, it will give way. Does anyone have experience with replacing front shocks with a Downey 3" coil spring sus lift? Thanks in advance you guys.
