I like that green, and I also like the blue as well.

My vote would go for an HDJ-80 though. Not as pretty as the FJ-60, but who can pass up Diesel; 5-Speed; Full-Time 4WD; Center, Front, and Rear Diff-Lock; Heated Seats; Rear Fog Lights; etc, etc.

Another vote for the last gen Supra TT;what else can you dump a grand into and get almost 150 more wheel horsepower? Plus how many motors can lay down over 900whp on the stock bottom end? That motor puts out big numbers from a measley 180ci.

For a Toyota 4x4, I like my friend's 88 FJ62. I'd take a FJ62 over the FJ60 just for the fuel injection and auto tranny.

One of my personal favorites is the FJ55 -

My other favorite, the FJ45 wagon -

As far as best, that's endlessly debatable. But as far as taking a ton of abuse and still running I would have to say the early 4x4 trucks (78-85) (84-85 4Runners)are damn tough and then probably the FJ 60 and 62.

I have also seen early Corolla's and Cressida's with tons of miles on them that are still ticking just fine.

As fas as best motor, I believe with probably a majority of the people that the 22RE is one of the best motors of all time.

DITTO!!! I wanted one bad, and still keep my eye out for one, buti've been bitten by the off-road bug and i dont think i could stand seeing muddy trucks and watching guys in trucks go just about anywhere when, knowing what i like, would be stuck to only going on roads because my car would only have a few inches ground clearance at best.... hillbilly

For me, the best truck Toyota have ever made is the Toyota HDJ-80. It is like your FJ-80 but with a 4.2 Turbo Diesel engine.

It has 170 HP in stock, but with an intercooler you can easily put it in 205 HP.

A friend of mine have one and it's sweet.

Here they're very very searched and very expensive altought having lots of km. Is the best truck to going down to the Sahara. Morocco, Mauritania and those countries are full of french and spanish HDJ-80's.

Also it's incredible the HZJ-105. Frame and suspension of a HDJ-80 with HDJ-100 body with 4.2 Atmospheric Diesel engine. Undestroyable.

They're sold in Gibraltar because they don't meet the european pollution laws and are those who the UN use. Are available with 5 or 10 people capacity.

There are companies importing them and modifying them, adding turbo and intercooler to meet the Euro III laws. With those mods the engine is the same as the HDJ-100. 4.2 Turbo Diesel Intercooler with 214HP.

David

PD: Look at that and dream... http://www.toyota-gib.com/

I averaged 12-16mpg, there are reports of people getting a little better than that, so now you can get one
FYI: 88-90 are the FJ-62 w/3FE 155hp engine, 91-92 is the FJ80 w/3FE 155hp, 93-97 is the FZJ80 w/1FZ-FE 215hp, also upgraded to 4wheel discs, ABS, full floater rear axle, etc.

Really?! That's what I get in my 4runner... ya jerk, why'd you have to tell me that j/k hmmmmmm....what to do, what to do... maybe if I get a really good job this summer or something...thanks for that other info, too...i thought 90-97ish were all 80's...show what i know!

Random Question...did you go to school to be a firefighter? is getting a firefighting job more competetive than getting a police job?
