best brand of topper?

i just picked up my 2006 Taco d-cab, SB, and might be looking to get a topper for it within the next few months. i only want the best for it, regarding fit, finish, durability, and looks. what are some good brands? it sounds like snug-top is a good choice, any others?

should i just get the accessory one from Toyota?

thanks guys.

The third of the most-recommended brands (besides SnugTop and ARE) is Leer.

Be advised, however, that there've been occasional yet recurrent complaints about Leer quality in recent years (they used to be a premier brand, bar none). Apparently they now have multiple (3?...) plants around the country, and it may be the case at least one of them hasn't got the quality control of the other(s).

i've got a snugtop on my '91, it looks good. i just need to try and buff it out with some rubbing compound(as well as the rest of the truck) since the paint is kind of dull and oxidized looking.

I vote for the new snugtops also. Have one on the wife's Taco and had one on mine also. Good quality and great warantee. A bit pricey but call around. I found a $450 differance between dealers.

I still think Leers are the best w/ ARE 2nd. I had an ARE Z-series and though impressed overall, it had many fit/finish issues..mostly quality control stuff but a negative all the same. Best bet is to hit a local dealer and compare...they''ll almost always have one or two of each on hand, just not necessarily for your make/model...
