Bay Area Wrench-A-Thon?

Robinhood150 and I were talking about the possibility of a wrench-a-thon. Would anyone be interested?

Time and place have yet to be decided. But if you have a project in mind, or would just like to help, post here!

I for one want to install my OME coils and shocks, so I'd especially appreciate it if someone who's done that before shows up!

Yeah, I need to try to fix my coolant leak. Should be pretty easy.

I'd like to do my OME install this Sunday, April 6. If anyone can help, let me know, food and beverages are on me!

How about seafood salad, beef jerky, and sparkling cider?

If you fly me down to sunny Cali, I'll be there too.

Tom,

Take a lot of pics. That's all I ask.

Oh yes, I'll definitely be taking pics. Looks like we're on for Sunday, the garage e-mailed me to say that they just received the hydraulic spring compressor. I'm planning on getting there right when they open at 9:00.

They're giving us a special price of $20per hour for the bay with a car lift.

Yep, regular price is $30/hr for the lift, and they include any and all tools too. It's in San Jose.

Personally, I think $20/hr for the lift should be the regular price, we'll see how it goes.

Talking Let's have another one!

Anyone interested in having another one of these? I don't think I need anything done to my truck but I would love to help others and to learn more. Also, if say you rent a space for an hour. but you're done in half, can you bring in another car to finish up the hour.. say 3 people come in to do their oil change.. that sort of thing..

Also, do they have welding equipment ?

And what if you need some advice?

Anyways, I'd like to come and help out/learn a thing or two.

I have performed some minor work (replaced power steering plump, flushed power steering system, replaced all belts, replaced alternator, did sr5 guage cluster swap... But I lack a lot of confidence to do anything else (afraid of screwing anything up)

The guys were very laid back at the garage. My stuff took closer to 4.5 hours, but I was only charged for 4. I can't remember his name right now, but the guy that was there thru the day did help when it was time to compress springs, which was a real bonus. We didn't have to rent for a specified amount of time, when I was done I was done, and that was it. They do have a small mig welder, but no real fab equipment as of yet.

All in all i think it was well worth the $20 an hour to go there.
