Bad luck Christmas Eve

Went to the bank this Christmas eve, parked away from everyone, returned 1/2 hour later to find a note saying that someone had hit the right rear passengers side bumper. What a rotten way to start off the Christmas season. At least they were good enough to leave their phone number.

Anybody have an idea what the bumper side trim piece (side part that bolts onto the main rear bumper section and goes up to the flare / mudflap) is worth for an '00 Limited?

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.

is it dented? cant tell from the paint transfer in the pic...

me thinks you could just buff it out, sand, repaint, whatever is necessary.

sorry that had to happen on x-mas.

I would say it costs however much a new BCC bumper would cost. Bummer that happened, cool that they left a note.

get some money for it, then use it to buy a new steel bumper.

to be honest i respect the guy that hit you for leaving a note, atleast they manned up, instead of just cruising away...good luck, get yourself something nice and shiny out of it

Thanks for your comments. The piece has dents / scrapes up to 1/2" deep so I will most likely replace the part, paint etc. The tail light has a couple of scratches that I can probably live with and the scrape below the tail light can probably be buffed out.

Maybe I should look into a new bumper. Any recommendations that would still look good with the factory Limited fender flares?

Thanks

Vic

I had that same piece replaced/painted, mudflap painted, and part of the fender flare painted...and the total was $421. Be glad it wasn't a hit and run!!

Two estimates. one for $675 and another for $1100. Wow, is body work getting expensive!
