Axle seals

My seals are gone so I have the axles out, everthing appears to be fine but obviously not. My question is do I just replace the inner seals and O rings and hope it will be fine or do I bring the axles in and get the outer seals done aswell. Im kinda pressed for time cause I need the truck tonight. Also I have no idea howmuch it will cost for the outer seals to be pressed on. Any help would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks

Well if your seals have gone out you should definatly do all the seals and spring for the bearings as well. It may cost a little more than you want to spend but if you going to do it, do it all right the first time. If you dont, you may end up regretting it later when the rest of the stuf goes out and you have to do it all over again.

Depends - It is very easy for a home mechanic to do the inner seals in a few hours, especially with a seal extractor. That is not much of an investment ($16 per seal) to see if that is indeed your issue.

I got my seals for $8 per seal at the dealer . Anyhow, no, don't do all the seals and the bearings. It is extremely rare for the bearings to go out on these. Do the inner seals (and rear brakes if they're coated) and then monitor the situation. If the problem persists, continue troubleshooting. Pressing the bearing off and on is quite involved and expensive (at the dealer). Why throw parts on it if you don't have to?

Oh and do yourself a favor and get a seal installer at the auto parts store. It made the job SO much easier!

Well I got the seals(inner) put them in and reinstalled everything hopefully it will last. I did not do the barrings or outer seals, like I said I was pressed for time, I called a couple places and no one could give me an exact price or time to do the barrings. I did check the diff breather and it wasnt moving at all and when trying to free it up it broke off. I put a hose on and extended it up. This leads me to believe that that was the cause of the seals going, I do remember someone saying that if the breather is plugged this will happen.
