axle question?

axle question?

let me start off by saying i searched and couldnt find exactly what i was looking for. mostly came up with e locker stuff. well here we go my brother has a 96 4 runner and is having some porblems with his rear axle. does anyone know if the 2nd gen runner axle ie. 90-95 will have the same mount as the 3rd gen ie. 96-02 thanks for any help that you guys can give me

No. A 90-95 4Runner axle will not have the same coil or link mounts as a 3rd gen 4Runner.
Not to mention its about 3" narrower.

ok thanks i knew they were narrower but for some reason my brother wated to know if you could swap them out. thanks for clearing it up

I belive you can swap in a thrid member from a 90-95 4runner, right? If your brother's problem is just in the diff/thrid member that may be an option.
