I agree kill the injectors. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is no mechanical backup if the injectors fail. End of story right there. Most modern engines are non-interference now, which means a LOT of things can go wrong (timing belt comes to mind) with no MAJOR damage. By cutting the injectors you'll give the perp a few seconds to stop and bail, which is probably better than locking him in, while he proceeds to tear the interior to shreds. It sounds like this is what you’re after anyway. Good luck man, let us know what you do!

Must be an insurance company investigator, I know the type.

Good luck, don't hurt anybody, it dangerous out there.

Absolutely correct. The EFI circuit goes down, the injectors stop injecting, you are done. The behavior is exactly as if the rig had run out of gas.

I got it, I just put a relay at the fuel pump power, it now kills within a second. Just so you guys know, we dont kill the car until it is at a speed under about 10mph. The brakes and steering are still there, they are just harder to use. Also, there is a police car that boxes it in.

Other mods, pulsed constant output to door locks (pretty rough on the actuators).

Rear window roll down, Just tap into the key switch ( I think Green/yellow) and ground this to roll down.

I made the reverse lights WIG-WAG to notify us the kill was successful. 12+ to purple/pink at tail light connection.

Hidden external unlock micro-switch(key for does not work with key in ignition)

Still trying to get interior lights on at kill, i think this is a negitive trigger at the dome light.

P.S. MvCrash, must be a "holster sniffer", I know the type.

Positively evil and I like it! Good luck, Eh!

Stick around; I'm sure we can think of a lot more electrical questions for you! I.e. I want to wire my rig so that if people touch it...Whammo... they get a shock by an auxiliary battery. How do I do this?

You guys should check out some of the gps tracking systems, such as SKY SPY, they probably cost a little more than a good alarm, but give you unlimited range on the pager. The only reason we dont like them so much for this application is there is about a 4 to 6 second delay.

With these, there is a gps system that when certain triggers happen, it pages you and takes other automated steps. You can then reply to the page and reset, kill, roll up windows, remote start, the choice is endless. You can also log onto the internet and locate exactly where the car is.

We quite often hook up the remote start, so we can start the cars from anywhere to charge the batteries. I live about 35 miles from where the cars are.

Greetings,
I guess I am a holster sniffer, except that I can sniff my own holster and have been doing so for about 23 years now. I've seen car theives get around many more than 6 uniform/umarked cars, I've seen radio gear malfuction, and yes, I've seen too many folks get killed or badly hurt in car chases. So, the only 100% safe way to protect the public AND catch the car thief is to DISABLE THE VEHICLE BEFORE they get into it and NOT let them Drive. Ever watch Wildest Police chases on TV?...get the idea?
Good luck, don't hurt anyone. Stay Safe and Drive Carefully.

MvCrash being a crash investigator makes him a little more sensitive the danger of rigging this car for what they want to accomplish. Don't take what I said the wrong way MvCrash, but let him do what he has to do. There are risks with law enforcement, that's just how it goes. It could be worse if the criminal just goes out and steals the car with nothing to disable it. The thief can go as fast as he wants, leading the police into a chase and potentially hurt innocent people. At least they can possible contain the damage, if their is any, instead of giving the thief free range. How are doc nomad, what did you put on the car to make it attractive to steal? And can I get whatever it is after you've accomplished everything?

We don't make the car any more attractive, we act out a skit in front of the right people (leaving the car running, sometimes a fight, sometimes a pizza delivery person, whatever) and let them take the bait and determine what they are going to do. Some take the keys, some take the property out it, some do nothing and the ones we really want take it.

These are the same type of people that would see joe citizens car parked in front of 7-11 running and take it, not knowing your 7 month old child is in the back seat. They then panic and leave your kid out in the middle of nowhere in sub zero weather.
