ATTN: aftrmkt tranny cooler owners
Just wanted to let you guys know how you install your tranny cooler. Make sure there padding between the cooler and the a/c condensor. I just blew $250 on a new denso a/c condesnor labor and a recharge of r134. That was 350 bux down the drain for me. I would check on yours. Until it's too late and realized your a/c is out on a hot summer california day.

Well thanks for the heads up. Those little foam pads are hard as crap to get between there. I have one of mine only half way in there. But I might try to get some more to put in just to make sure.
Sorry to hear you had this problem tho.

I'm surprised there aren't more posts of people having problems. Particularly those who 'wheel a lot. When I opened the box and read the instructions on how to install my cooler, I was horrified they suggested using zip ties. The condenser, radiator and cooler are all made of very thin materials to promote heat dissipation, thus making them quite fragile. I ended up fabing some brackets to mount my cooler and would encourage others to do so as well.

Hmmm... Not sure why you wouldn't just bolt it to the frame.

In the pictures above, the TRD cooler, (same as Hayden), uses brackets to bolt away from the condenser. The holes on the cooler line up with the frame in front of the passenger side so you don't need those brackets. You will need a bracket to secure the top of the cooler to the frame, (connected to the hood latch), which can be bought at Lowe's or Home Depot.
Padding = less airflow through the cooler AND the condenser.
