ARB Compressor mounting spots for 3rd gen 4runner

I'm looking for ideas as to where to mount the ARB compressor in my 4runner. I used to have it inside the engine compartment on my Prado but the 4runner does not seem to have enough space in there.

I was thinking somewhere in the cargo area, hopefully out of sight and with minimal perforations.

I have the small compressor (CKSA12)

Thanks in advance for any ideas or pics you want to share.

I welded up a bracket to hold it above the AC line, wedged in on the pass side.

I fit mine in the same place and have ABS, just cut and rewired my AC power line

Edit: i think mine was more over the fender line as the screws come in through the top of my fender into the wheel well

It's too dark for me to go out to check if there's room there on my '02 4Runner, but my friend mounted his on the firewall, just to the driver's side of the windshield wiper motor, if I remember correctly. This was on his 1999 Tacoma. He also had to fab a bracket.

EDIT: On the second photo that Gerdo posted in post #3 above, it would be located right at the very top left corner of the photo.

Thank you guys. I wonder if there's space on the rear cargo area somewhere, but disguised inside the panels.

You can mount it inside but rember you'll hear it when you lock. It should only cycle on for a second or two. I've also heard that you can get a little oil out the vent when you unlock. I'm not sure if you want the possable mess or smell from the oil inside.

I've decided to mount it on the rear storage compartment on the passenger side, I like the cleanliness of it. On my Prado (when I had the compressor mounted inside the engine bay) I could hear it pretty loud and the sound doesn't really bother me.

The sound of an ARB compressor brings a smile to my face, I always use that button when I'm having lots of fun

I'll keep an eye on the oil leak thing and will report back...

Thanks to all for your contribution. I'll post some pics when I get the truck back from the shop.

No oil leaking so far. Mounted it in November '08 and have turned the locker on at least 15 times since then.
