Cool Anyone use AI to help with repair info?

I could see a scenario where you describe the issues you are noticing with your car to get advice/instructions from an AI trained on all historical auto repair knowledge across every make/model.

Basically to save time diagnosing issues and flipping through the manual... or trying to find the info online

But what do you think?

I’ve tried ChatGPT 4 and Google Bard/Gemini to narrow down issues or get repair instructions. So far I’ve either gotten back super generic information, wrong information, or it just refers me to the manual.

Has anyone tried AI to help them work on their car? What did you use & how did it go?

Cheers

Save time = save $$?

Haha, yeah... but there's a lot of noise online no?? Especially for newbies...

The scenario would be you describe the issues you're noticing with your car to get advice/instructions from an AI trained on all historical auto repair knowledge across every make/model.

Basically to save time in diagnosing issues and flipping through the manual... or trying to find the info online... And, do it from your phone from underneath your truck...?

Probably mainly for older vehicles... without comprehensive on-board computers and people still willing to work on them!
