I have my bass at zero and still seems as if theres not enough highs or mids, especially since I listen to rock.
I hope to be at his level some day.

I have 2 15s and Its alright, all I have for mids(wait what mids?) and highs are 2 4s in the dash. I'd like to go to components all around and actually go for some competitive speakers but I'm not putting anymore money in this thing when anyone can get inside in under 10 seconds.

And what do you mean since you listen to rock? I run my head unit at 0 on bass and 0 on the subs (both go to + and - 7) with my remote gain for the amp at about half when I listen to rock. If I flip over to rap/hip-hop I have to turn both down to -3 or -4 and turn my remote gain all the way down.

I run 0 on my head unit and 0 on the subs. I dont know what they're at right now since I recently just installed a CB radio and it reset everything because i disconnected my battery, which kinda blows. I haven't fiddled with my amp in along time, not sure what its at currently.

Just put this in this past week. I got a good deal on the enclosure from a previous T4r owner and put a JL 10W3 in it. sounds much better that the 12W1 I was running plus free's up alot of room in the cargo area.

I think i got the best system, I am running a pioneer cd head unit , with stock blown front speakers , and about to blow rears. with XM hooked up to it.

Anyone consider running an aperiodic enclosure with a big 15" in the side compartment of a 3rd gen? I have a '99, with the larger right-side compartment in the hatch, and have thought about putting my 15" Adire Tempest in there. It's a good candidate for aperiodic, or IB, but I think I'd need to cut a hole in the sheet metal near the fender. Not a big deal if it's behind the plastic fender liner anyway.

Thoughts, ideas?

It's either the big 15", or a small sealed enclosure in the same spot for my 8" Tang Band sub. Oh, still need to find a spot for the Eclipse 4-channel as well. Ugh.

Probably going to do the 8". While the 15" gives effortless SQ, there just isn't room for it in my truck. I prefer not to use any cargo space, and there's no room up front anywhere.

lol see your not taking cargo space untill you have a system like mine lol. I cant fit jack in my truck now haha.
Box is 30 inches long, 19 inches tall, 39 inches wide. There is 19.7 cubic feet in the box.... unless i calculated wrong. But i also have a 4.8 inch tall port that is 20 inches wide, and 15 inches long. Box is tuned for 34.87 hz, Housing 2 Audiopipe TXXAPX15BL 15"'s and being powered by a SPL DK2-1000 and a 500k Scoche micro Farad Cap.

But on the note of highs and mids. I have my 4 inches and my 6.5 in as my mids and my components for highs. My amp powers the stock system and kicks it up quite loud to lol. Highs are nice in my truck. I just need some good speakers for the doors, I was thinking about putting 6.5 in the rear as well as the front. And using those strictly for mids.

Speaking of which. If anyone has a bass knob for a SPL amp I am willing to buy. I need one bad. I have no way of droping my subs in a hurry other than the Attune button. If anyone has a bass knob please PM me.

Nothing fancy but it gets loud and clear. Im still debating i need or want to get a amp for the door speakers. Door speakers are in the stock locations.

Lol Touche Scrambled. And its 6 inches thank you. Lol I wanted the port to breath for 6 inches. Helps alot haha.

And nice setup eric. Very clean and useful lol.
Yesturday i had a 2 seat suv for the whole day. The sub box was moved up front to see how much of a difference it made. Had to take the back seat assembly out and remove the carpet to set it down.

Lol I already have a wall designed for my truck. Full specs and cut list to fit 4 Fi BTL's 18's and Have all the amps mounted underneath. Except for the 2 main subs im mounting on the back. Right below the 42 inch Tv haha. I think the box was like 30 something cubic feet and i think about 4 to 5 feet of port space. But that is when i win the lottery and can afford all that haha.

Got a couple JL W7's 12" Memphis amp and infinity perfects components for all 4 doors plus alpine head unit and 2 caps. Got an old Sony amp running the infinity's. Probably change that amp out soon.

aight guys, i'm a total noob here about sound system. All i know is that i've been with my cousin once in north carolina who has an amazing sound system and i cant remember much...

I have a sony xplod stereo installed and it kinda looks like this

all i know is that i want a sub/amp to feel the music. however i dont want something too crazy obnoxious. i've gotta be able to use my cargo area aswell, so nothing big/fancy lol. Also i'd like to add that i dont have a whole lot of money since i'm in college, but i'm window shopping and i want to make a wishlist. Perhaps you guys could help me out here?

i've got a logitech z-5500 surround sound speakers on my computer and i love it. i believe that 500+ watts are plenty full enough, so maybe i'd like something around in that area.

thanks

Home/computer stereo systems are so much different than automotive. 50 watts in a home stereo is alot, its about as much as a stock head unit in a car though.
