Hey lemme know if you guys get tired of my stupid pictures.
Put the sides together today. I'm going to put everything together then take it all apart again and make sure all the screws are flush. Also glue everything together. And a couple other things that you will just have to wait and see.

Thats because it is. Or a BL cant remember. That what my next system will be. Two 12s. Either the BL or the BTL cant decide yet. Figure if I'm gonna go all out might as well go all out so I'll probably end up with the BTLs.
What amp you runnin? What you got for power? Batt, cap, alt?
What is that a 15 or 18?

Its a 15 BTL wanted to go with the 18 but was afraid of space issues.
It's still sitting in the room because I'm still saving up for the sundown audio 3000d amp.
Me and my bro put a piece of 3/4 inch plexiglass in it.
and the finished product...sorta lol

OK here comes a crap load of pics...
Cutting port...
Port cut...
Test fit in the truck...
How to draw perfect circles when you don't have a protractor big enough...
Circles found. Time to cut...
Cut...
Tried to test fit the port. Guess I'll just have to wait...
They fit...
Maybe upside down? Would be tuned a bit lower if I ever feel the need...

OK more pics for everyone who doesn't care anyways, lol.
Took everything apart so I could glue it all back together. Here is the port glued to the front baffle...
Box glued without the top on...
Little support I glued in for the bottom of the port. 20:20 hindsight: Should have raised the port a bit because it is too close to the floor of the box...
Here I am putting the top on...
Top is on, crawling out of that sub hole was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do...
Painted the inside till I ran out of paint. Got to go get more tomorrow, it's so that you cant see anything when you look in the port. As you can see there is a vertical support in the box now...

Jack: Great job on that box. Do you have any build pics? What is it covered in? Is that tan leather? Looks like an awesome fit.

All right late night last night and worked on it all day today...
Made a second top baffle for even more bracing also to give the subs a "flush" look.
Made speaker terminals using all-thread from Lowes...
Used a mixture of saw dust and wood glue to make "filler" for the screw heads so that you can't see them when I paint the box...
Flat black on the inside and and some weird dark textured stuff for the outside. I didn't like it at first but now as long as I can get an even coat over the whole box I think it will turn out great. I severely under estimated the amount of that stuff I would need. Bought 2 cans I think I will need at least 6 maybe 7 or 8...

No, no build pics :-( as I had someone do this for me. My work schedule takes me away from home many weeks (7 of the last 8) and I had a local friend of a friend take care of it while I was away. It's mainly fibreglass with dyed vinyl stretched over top. A real good match, and a great job.

toylocost, looks awesome so far
jack, your sub setup looks interesting. i had a kicker L7 8" in a 1.0 cubic ported box and jbl bp600.1. i blew the heck out of it. wasn't to loud for me. but it was loud for only one 8". I was impressed with it though.

Okay here it comes...
Got the rest of my paint(took 6 cans). Painted...
Speaker terminals, every one was soldered, not crimped...
Subs in, FINALLY ready to go in the truck ...
In the truck. I'm very nervous at this point. This is where my HOURS of work and money come together and I'm really hoping for a good improvement...
Aaaaaaahhh. Relief. I wired them correctly. And guess what? They hit HARD!!! I can honestly say its the loudest system I've ever been in a vehicle with. I'm amazed that it's only 500 watts. It flexes the sheet metal on the side of the truck SO much. Maybe I will have to make a video for you guys.
All in all I am VERY pleased with the results. I put so much effort into this box too make it right the first time and it came out better than I had imagined. Tomorrow I will be able to really ring it out, I didn't want too today because it was past 10 and the neighbors were sleeping (maybe not after that lol).
