Any 99 Limited w/ Multimode and a 5 speed?

Did any 99 Limited with Multimode 4WD have 5 speeds? I would love to convert my 02 to a 5 speed, but don't want to give up the AWD.

Wha! I would love to have a 5 speed. They just weren't available in '01 and '02. Is there anyway to do this with the center locking transfer case or would I have to go with a non Multi-mode xfer case to accomplish this? This is all when my auto tranny goes out.

Taco's came with this option, so you'd have to use a taco transmission

Uh, Tacoma's never came with the multi-mode/5sp option. In fact, they NEVER came with a center diff. They were and still are, tradition 4WD systems.

The closest thing to what the OP is looking for is the new FJ's with the FullTime 4WD/6sp option. But that's a whole lotta fabbin' and hackin'.

So then I would assume there isn't a 5 speed that will bolt up to the multi-mode transfer/center diff case correct?

You are correct, sir! (or ma'am). But if you treat your auto transmission well, it will last a long long time. I was bummed about not being able to get a 5-sp with my double cab (not an option), but I like the auto quite a bit now. I can eat without getting food all over my shifter, steering wheel or trying to steer with my legs. Plus, the last thing I want to do after a long day of skiing, biking, hiking, etc. is shift.
