Another 3.4L Cam/valvetrain Option
PLEASE SEE IF YOU COULD HELP THIS PROGRESS (i need a set of 5vz heads for research and testing):
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f12/...-heads-115678/
ive been selling honda cams made by a company called rocket motorsports for over 3 years now, and they are just amazingly popular for honda cars for being probably the best cams/valvetrain available, and pretty much the cheapest ones, that still have really great quality to them.
www.m24x.com is the company's site, and i have been talking with rocket about starting from scratch and designing some cams for the 3.4 from the ground up.
he wants to start with a new core, and he and i would be designing the cams together, and hopefully making better power for our tacomas.
theres plenty of options here, NA, S/C'd etc, as well as different levels of agressiveness for each.
what I need to know is that there's a market for it, and what you guys think would be a fair price for 4 new cores, as well as 4 regrinds.
ALSO AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: i need a set of donor cams.
basically someone needs to send him their stock cams for about 2 months so he can get the measurements and we can get the designing done.
this person will receive a set of cams at my cost, which will be a decent price break from retail.
post all thoughts and ideas, what you want to see done, and fair prices for both you and me. I know that price guessing is hard since neither you nor i know my cost yet.

I'm not terribly knowledgable in this area so out of curiosity, what kind of benefits would this provide for a stock N/A engine? Would anything else need to be upgraded to make full use of the benefits?

if youre asking what performance cams do, i guess i could suggest looking at any heavily modified car, or talk to anyone who is into performance engines.
howstuffworks.com will also tell you what a cam's purpose is
other than that.
better performance in general is the biggest idea here.
boost is not the only way to make power on any motor.
youll have more air entering the cylinders, so when compressed can make more energy (if more fuel is added)
better torque, therefore hp curve. more low end.
upgrades- it would be best to have a tunable fuel system, but thats about it. then common bolt-ons to take advantage.

3.4 v6 cams
G'day,
Im from OZ, and I'd be interested in some cams. Im not interested in fitting a supercharger as alot of you yanks do. What Im after is just more low down torque, if thats possible with the cam, I rarely rev her out hard and use her heaps for daily driving. Just want more low down torque to help get off the line with bigger than stock tyres and better fuel economy aswell.
Thanks, Is it possible?
