Talking All the Mods that can be done to a 3rd gen 4runner. Contest! Who knows the most?

UPDATED! 6-13

Ok, I have been searching for the last few weeks for all the mods that there are out there for the 3rd gen 4runners.

After all that searching I have come to a few conclusion:

We need a thread that has a list of ALL the Mods for 3rd Gens!

So I am starting this thread as an index of mod/parts/upgrades/maintenance items? that can/should be done to 3rd gens. Who knows, if we get a complete list the mods just might sticky this for future modders...

Here is what I want to do:

Post the name/description of the mod that you know of for 3rd gens, Rules:

You MUST post a link to what the mod is / why it is good / how to do it. Something that will tell people what it is you are talking about and how to do it.

I will update this first post with the mods as they are put up so that people don?t have to read all the way through the thread to see them all.

Ok, here are the ones I have and will start it off with!

Whole lot of mods on one site done to a 2nd gen but a lot can be done on a 3rd gen as well. Well worth a look.: http://pnw4runners.com/tando/modpics.htm

Another great place to look for mods, and also where a lot of these mods are located is: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f125/

-------------------------------------------------------------
Now some Cheap under $50 mods that don't have write ups yet, if you have a link to any of these mods please post it and i will update as needed. And I will move them above to the correct place.

- Felt pad to stop clanking keys against your steering column

- Maglight clips below the driver seat

- Door Chime Mod

- Bug guard $10

- Red tachometer lights $3

- Driving Lights $25

- Skid Plate $50

- 5% Tint $50

- Chrome Exhaust Tip $20

- Paint Emblems $10

- fire extinquisher

- supercharger gasket on the throttle body

-Replacing the relays for the rear window. It cost $10. Now window works perfect. Wwill soon be replacing the defroster relay.

- Ventshades

- Changing out dome lights and other lights to LEDs

- Glass cleaner, and a newspaper. The best safety mod I've ever done!

- Higher output Bulbs

- Manual aisin hubs

- Rocklights

- cupholder mod - one mouse pad

- Large bath towels (matching color) wrapped and tucked on my front seats

- A harbor freight Creeper so I can slide around under the rig for inspections

- XACT Sirius receiver install on Sunglass holder on 99 runner

- RIDING LIGHTS ON MY BRUSHGARD $29.00

- NEW SPEAKERS IN DASH $26.00

- STEP ON BULL BAR FOR MY HITCH $35.00

- WINTER WIPPER BLADES (All rubber coated) $10.00

- PAINTED MY SKID PLATE $3.00

- TWIN ON BOARD FIRE EXT. $20.00

- Connecting head unit to 100w PA speaker (hooked to CB radio PA). This cost me about $15 for a switch and wire and some taps. Now I just flick a switch and whatever is playing on my head unit plays through my 100w PA horn under the hood. Love this for tailgating, working outside, etc.

- Streetgraphics TRD stickers.

And as usual keep posting your mods and links. Only time that a mod gets put here without a link is for cheap mods like above. Otherwise, no link, no post. Well post it anyways, i might be able to find a link....

I've been looking for a good HID light install. I've searched and found a couple things but nothing authoritative. Any ideas?

Yeah, i got a kit off ebay that i am going to install as soon as i get time. The kit was $100 including shiping and it came with the H4-2 (high and low beam) bulb.

One thing to look out for are the bulbs that say HID but don't have the trasformer box to go with it. They are NOT real HID.

HID's for $100 bucks. I'll do it if it's that cheap. Has anyone else put these in? I haven't searched yet but I'm assuming there's probably a bunch of different kits out there.

Well i didn't think i would need to offer a prize, i figured that being know as the ultimate 3rd gen modder would be enough...Plus this is more for a refernce sheet for other people then anything else. I wish there had been one of these when i was spending weeks looking for all the mods i could do to my new toy! But i bet we can come up with something...

Oh and BTW you can post ANY mod that has not yet been posted. Be it something that is obvious to regular users. Just INCLUDE A LINK on what it is and how to do it.
