Airbag Light On!

Airbag Light On!
I am currently driving a 1999 Tacoma V6 4WD SR5. The poor truck has seen its fair share of abuse, but still runs strong. It has been submerged to the floorboards in nasty, muddy water about a year ago. After resurecting it (cleaning the carpet, seats, interior, etc.) things were fine. About a month ago, the airbag light started blinking at me. I was finally able to find a Toyota tech that was off duty to read the code. It came up as bo136. Apparently it is the seatbelt retracter that is throwing the code. I have the equipment to test this but am not sure how to "ohm it out" as an electrician would say. I know that water kills these things as I had to replace the airbag module in my previous 4runner for the same reason of water. I have also noticed that the seatbelt warning light does not illuminate. Could these two be connected? Has anyone else seen this problem with their Tacoma? All connections were cleaned and I double checked that everything is plugged back to where it is supposed to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
