Let's keep it clean. It's a family forum.

And be happy there are girls in your state that will get into the back of a truck with a bed that looks like a street bum had built, and a big rope under the bed to boot.

Ok, so I was able to take the truck off road today. Potholes, ruts, all that good stuff. I have to say that I was amazed at the shocks. There was barely a difference in the ride! I thought that since they were air shocks, they wouldn't give that great of performance, boy was I wrong. They took things like a champ! I have to say, that they did stiffen the rear a slight amount, but nothing bad at all. If anything, it made the rear perfect. Not too soft, but not too stiff.

That's good to hear David. I haven't had mine out to test yet off-road, but I'm sure they'll be fine. Thanks for the update!

"oly884", if you wear yourself out with that bicycle pump to get the shocks up, you're not going to have any energy left to utilize your storage/bed set up. (sorry about that 4RUNR)

Hahahaha, actually you'd be surprised at how fast it pumps them up. It only took about 2-3 mins to get from 20-120 psi.

I see, just some "warm up" exercises before the real work (fun) begins.

What I would do is check the compressed and extended length of your current shocks, check the bolt sizes, and then compare which shocks will work off of their site.

sorry.. it's for the rear to get rid of the sag.. as it sits now, no lift.. and at most I'll be getting OME coils later down the road for just a lil lift. does anyone have the measurements on the OME shocks for a 2nd gen? (assuming that would be the best route, and still work with the stock suspension, please correct me if i'm wrong in that assumption) then i can compare and find the right model in the max-airs.

Look into an application for your runner using Gabriel HiJackers, I am using them in the front (4-5 inch lift), but they were sold for use on the rear of a stock 1996 4-runner (part #49387). Do your rear shocks have a "post end" on one end and a "loop end" on the other?

Last time I called AutoZone where I bought my Gabriel HiJackers 3 years ago and they said no longer carry the #49387 but they said #49587 has replaced it.
