AC Pump Question
Hey All,
Got a question that I hope somebody(s) can answer. I took my runner into the dealership for the 90K service. When I dropped it off I told them about the loud squealing and all the circumstances that surrounded it. No Biggie….right?
Well fast forward to the time that I am supposed to pick it up. One of the service managers tells me that the squealing was coming from my AC Pump. “You see one it starts to go there is nothing that you can do other than replace it” was his solution. He went on to tell me that there is not thing I could of done to prevent it, it is just ‘one of those’ parts that are designed to wear out with use. He then informed me that it would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $800 to fix it.
Can somebody tell me what the deal with the AC pump is? Is it really that much to get taken care of? Could I do it myself? Is there anything I can do to tome the squealing down, or is that here to stay?
Thanks All,
