ac fan/motor kaput

ac fan/motor kaput
a while back i was driving my friend up a fireroad to retrieve his car after a shuttle ride and along the bumpy way we heard a 'clank!' somewhere in my glovebox area. i thought it was just a loose objext in the box, but later discovered that my ac fan had gone out. it still ran in high, but not without a loud buzzing noise.
when i went to visit my friend later that week i borrowed his tools to pull the ac motor and discovered what looked like a double-ended nail amongst the fan blades and about three of the blades broken off. that explained the loud buzzing (off balance fan), but the motor still doesn't turn on low through medium.
does this mean my motor needs to be replaced or is there a fuse or something that will fix it. it wouldn't be too much of an issue if not for the fact that i never run my fan on high even in the Texas summer; just low or medium.
thanks!

Fan running only on high is a classic symptom of a blown ballast resistor.

well, it's getting warmer here so i'm gonna do the ballast resistor (thanks for that link) and fan. do you know what the technical name of the fan is and who sells one? i may look for both parts at a junkyard.
also, i know someone selling parts off a 98 4-cyl Tacoma. will those parts work with my V6? thanks again!

I don't know the exact name, heater or a/c blower fan I guess. Probably the only place to get a new one would be the dealer. If you can get a used fan that would be good, but I'd get a new ballast resistor. They're not very expensive and a used one might not last very long.
As for the parts off the other Tacoma most of the body, interior etc parts would be the same.
