AC blowing on driver's feet

I have all the lower vents closed. But see the open space next the the 4 in a circle? Cold air blows out of that to the point on a long drive my right foot is freezing. This is to the right of the gas pedal. Does anyone else have this opening? I was thinking of just blocking it up. Maybe get some more cold air coming out of the vents also.

I have the same opening and to me it sounds like there is a vacuum line off.

if you use a piece of foam or something that would probably work. I would guess .....

Yeah, but why all of a sudden? I've had this truck for almost ten years now.

LINY, I always mis the deadline for the permit to o on the beach. But I do hear a lot of stories of many vehicles getting stuck with the exception of 4Runners & Wranglers. LOL.

Do you have the automatic (digital) or manual A/C control? If its the automatic, your A/C mix servo may have gone out. If manual, the mix control cable may have problems. Both can just happen with age. That opening is the normal floor discharge. There is an amazing diagnostic routine for the auto A/C in the FSM--the thing can diagnose itself.

I have the manual. Old fashioned dial you have to turn with your hand. LOL

I am going to guess you have never torn apart a dash and found a broken vacuum line....

Sure to plug it and such is very easy, however to fix it will be a pain in the arse!!!

my little yota dont have the a/c system.. my big f250 hd edt. does and yes it has a pile of vacum lines to the push button control..

harbor frieght mittyvac. hand vacuum pump will pay of when hunting for vacuum leak..
it was worth every pennie..

sometime its easier just to take it to the pro's and not stress your self out over the small stuff..

that hole leads to a "vent" that comes out at about knee level directly below the steering column
