ABS problems
did a search before posting and couldnt find anything like the problem i am having. 99 TRD 3.4l v6 Tacoma
Went offroading two weeks ago .. (little bit of history) the mud we have around here has a high clay content making it really sticky at times.
anyways, went through some muck .. got dirty. didnt think anything about it.
Two days later; while i was turning off of a overpassyeild my ABS system FREAKED out ( like in a low trac situation in snow, or a very sudden slam on the brakes) but i was just nudging the brake pedal to slow.
anyways, after the freakout my abs light came on.. and the truck was then running on regular power brakes.
the ABS light has been coming on and off infrequently for the last two weeks now.. but the ABS system wasnt seisuring like it did before.
this morning i just tapped the brakes when coming to a stop sign, and it did it again.. scared the ˟˟˟˟˟ outta me while i was going towards an intersection and didnt think i was going to stop in time.
now im concerned.. at first i thought it may have been a rock/clay in my caliper.. but i tried powerwashing them out twice to no avail.. (i havent pulled the tires off yet.)
i dont have access to an OBD II either..
any suggestions as to what the problem may be/ what i should do?

Check and try cleaning the ABS sensors at the axles (sp?). I had mine ABS light come on once and that helped it. The sensor are located near the wheels or hubs on the front, not certain if it is the same on the rear axle on a Tacoma. Also check the wiring is okay, maybe you damaged one offroad.
There are some threads with location of the sensors on here.
Finally take it to a mechanic if it keeps acting eratic, as it could get you in an accident.

ABS override
Has anyone done an ABS override switch? I saw it done on a Frontier and was just wondering if anyone had done it on a Taco or 4rnr? Mine (ABS) has tried to kill me a few times on high speed rambles in the dirt.
