99 Tacoma 2.7 starts missing as fuel level declines

My tacoma has a misfire/fuel starvation issue when the needle starts to get off of full. it died completely on me when it got to around half.
Previous owner said he had the fuel pump changed (bosch), but didn't give a reason why. Got the truck for $3800 with 180k on the odometer. 2wd.
I don't want to dump a ton of money into it, but here's what I've done so far.
New plugs, wires, pcv, air filter(tune up stuff) changed all fluids, cleaned maf, cleaned IACV, cleaned throttle plate, seafoam, New fuel pressure regulator (idle would speed up when I pinched the return line from the FPV).
Any suggestions?

Has the fuel filter even been changed?

I'm beginning to suspect that something isn't kosher in the fuel tank. I don't know exactly how everything is put together, but it makes sense that it may be a pickup tube issue, or something not seated, bad o-ring type issue.
The problem completely goes away when I fill up.

unless there is just something else not noticed yet, i agree. Probably a crack/hole in the pickup tube and once the fuel gets below the hole it leaks amd you loose pressure. If a fuel pump was just done maybe someome was rough on it when pulling it out/putting it in.
