Dang dude, you're really going for it.

Should be fun without all the length back there though! I would be too freaked out to make the cut through the bed.

I'm interested to see how you do on this I've been thinking about bobbing my bed till I can afford a flat bed, but then I'd have to modify my MC bumper which I don't think would be too hard.

Plans and Replies.

Ok, So there's a couple threads on TTORA that say 12" is perfect and will get the tailgate even with the rear part of the shackle mount.

I think im going to be safe and go with 10 or 11 "
Still need to get out there and do some measuring though.

Tomorrow is my birthday, I will either take my mom 4wheeling with me on a local trail, nothing crazy. OR, Cut into the bed and weld it up.
Idk yet.

Yea without all that and a bumper with some side protection, the rear will be the least of my worries..
And trust me, I am freaked out.

I've actually been through the whole post from 00 over on TTORA...was a really interesting thread and it seems like a perfect thread/person to go to for info. Looks like you're on your way I'll keep checking back on the progress. Good luck she looks sweet!

Gonna go for the Xtra cab eventually?

So my mom finally gets back into town, and I show her what I have done.

She looks at this part (bottom left of the sheet metal here, The part with no paint)

And say's while your at it why dont you cut all that body damage out..

Im stumped, cant figure out why shes telling me to hack up the bed any more then I already am..
So I say that.
She looked me in the eyes and said "YOU WONT"
So I guess my mom is calling me out.

Figure ill finish with the welding of everything then make a template and do the same on the other side..

Ouch, I couldn't even take my truck offroad for the 1st 3yrs I owned it. You've had yours for like 2 months and are cutting it!!!!! I've thought about just cutting the skirts off and then adding a 4Runner style bumper that wraps around in place of the skirts.
