99 4runner and Towing

This might be a stupid question but I just wanted some clarification. I have a 18ft bass boat that I tow. Is it better to tow in 2wheel drive or 4wheel drive? To get to were I drop in, I get on the highway (55mph) and rual streets (35mph).

Thanks in advanced.

There's no need to tow in 4 wheel drive. There's no pulling advantage, just more wear and tear on your truck's 4 wheel drive. Maybe while docking your boat if it's a gravel ramp.
