Any suggestions on what i should start doing to it? I was thing on putting a trd supercharger with a dual exaust and 5 inch lift anlong with tires and wheels. What else should i do to make it ready for the trails ,any suggestions?

 

first off, u cant put a straight up 5 inch lift on these trucks cuz the cv angle would be to bad. u would have to do a 3in suspension, 2in body lift. second if u are wheeling watch where u put that exhaust cuz if u put it sticking to far out say bye bye after the first rock. New bumpers would be a wise investment and my personal best mod i have done is my Rocksliders(ditch those gay running boards). Rocksliders have saved my doors many times and it was the best 120 bucks i ever spent. i would look into lockers(arb air is the best) instead of the supercharger, but if u got the money go for both.

 

First avoid the dual exhaust since there's no performance gain and just something else to be crushed on the trails.

Are you planning on 3" lift w/2" body lift to accomplish 5" or just a straight 5" since there's more work involved in the straight lift.
Sliders should come after the lift and tires.

Do you have the rear diff lock already?

Yeah, i was planing on going with the 3in suspension and 2in body in the first place. It has an e-locker in it right now i think. Dare, can you give me a site or something where i can check out those rocksliders you mentioned?

they saved my butt yesterday when i slid off the rock i was on when i bumped it. i was really glad i had them, or i wouldnt have had a door.

 

$135/pair? Wow,that is cheap.

Are they pretty solid when you slam a rock vs bumping it? I was looking at Stubbs and those are about $265 but I'd love to save more than a few bucks as I'd love to add sliders before summer hits. I do see the Stubbs have 4 mounting points vs 3 so I'm wondering how that will factor in.

I'm not hardcore off roading so the 3 bar might be alright for me.

 

Words of wisdom: Go wheeling a few times in the new rig and then decide what you need! If I could go backwards, Id probably stick to a near stock setup.

 

Best advice yet. If anything, just get some 265/75/16 tires and go at it. Upgrade various parts as needed.

 

thats what i did... and im currently just replacing my OME suspension set up. i like it to be as stock as can be, i just upgraded parts as i broke them/found out they were crap.

these are the following reasons i did what i did

arb bumper - old man came into my lane, tore off my front bumper
ome lift - wanted to fit bigger tires (mud terrains) might as well lift it
arb air locker - i dont like having to floor it to get anywhere
snorkel - dunked it once and had to change my pants
skid plates - ripped off when i was getting pulled out backwards
winch - i recover my buddies when they are in the middle of nowhere a lot
lightforce lamps - motivation for people in the fast lane to go fast or move
