99 4Runner Fog Lights
Does anyone know where I find the wires to hook up my fog lights to the rocker switch I just installed in the dash? The factory wirring is there just not sure where the wires are under the dash. It might be worth mentioning that my Toyota rocker switch has 3 contacts.

These instructions should help:

At least they will get you to two of the contacts, the third contact is for power to light the switch.

Having installed a ton of these switches it is very simple.
Is this a toyota switch? if it is then you will have 2 prongs on one side, those are you power in/out leads (which is which is by trial and error).
Then there will be a 3rd lead on the end and the other side of the swich, that is the ground for the light. Hook it up to ground first as you know where that goes. Then connect a 12+ to one of the other connectors, the one that only lets the light turn on when the switch is on is the power in and the other is the power out. Hope that helps.

you said the wiring was already there, right? The wiring will be built into the turn signal lever. So if you dont want to have to cut/splice anything and just do plug and play, just go to a junkyard and find a LTD 4runner with the fog lights, and pull the turn signal lever assembly out of it. That, should be plug and play. Wiring that switch will require cutting/splicing.

99 4Runner Fog Light Install Job w/tips
OK so here it is boys. SKJOS diagrams helped. However on my truck (99) The green wire with the black stripe & the black wire with the red stripe were at the opposite side of the scotchlock than the diagram shows. Anyways took the dash appart, found the wires, upluged the scotchlock, used a very small precission flat head screwdriver and inserted it into the scotchlock female end which releases the wires without having to cut them (little tip there). Then I took off all the electrical tape, took the two wires back (approx. 16") and re-taped & secured the other wires back and pluged the scotchlock back in. Then I taped the two other wires together & secured them. I used some electrical female contacts I pick up at a great little electrical supply shop that has everything secured them to the two wire ends and applied some electrical jully before I taped them up. Then I just pluged them into my new switch and put my dash back together. Oh! & I went with the diagram for which wires to connect to which Rocker switch contact. AND that third contact on my Rocker I took your advice & grounded it. DID IT WORK? I'll let you know as soon as I pick up my fuse relay & plug it in, but dang it looked good.
