Your boost drop after the intake install? any time you have less restriction boost will drop and so will the power

Nope, it just made less power, this has been seen on NA trucks as well. The stock intake is not a restriction in the first place hence why this doesn't make anymore power.

The issue is where the air is pulled from. The stock intake pulls all of it's air from the fender, the K&N pulls in hot engine bay air. Thats where the power loss comes from I am pretty sure. The piping size is the same so there should not be any gains going to the K&N anyways.

There you have the one thing it does do better. It is MUCH louder and that will trick most into thinking it is faster, heck I fell for it till I got it on the dyno. But I prefer it actually being faster vs sounding faster.
