98 4Runner Door Trigger Wiring

Hello All,

I've just completed installation of a keyless entry/alarm system on my 98 4Runner. I've found all schematics and wiring instruction necessary on this forum -- that's awsome!

The only tweak that would be nice to do involves the door trigger. The wire specified in all the writeups the black/white wire by the driver's door junction does not include the hatch. Is there a trigger wire that senses all the doors? Perhaps even the "door open" light on the instrument panel since that clearly illuminates when the doors OR the hatch is open.

Much obliged if anyone can point me to a wire, or a schematic.

Regards
-Ted

DOOR TRIGGER LIGHT GREEN/BLACK (-) will catch all doors, except for cargo hatch.

THE DOOR TRIGGER WIRE IS LOCATED BEHIND THE DRIVERS SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK, IN A 13-PIN PLUG.

Most alarms have a channel for an hood pin, that's the one I used for the rear hatch wire.

I hate to revive this dead thread buuttt. I am trying to wire courtesy lights under my '98 4runner and need a wire to tap so they come on when the doors open. I also wanted to know how I should wire in a switch that could 'override' the door trigger, so I could turn the lights at anytime when the doors are closed.

Any help appreciated!!

ok i think i will tap into the dome light instead to get lights on when any door is opened. That or the 'open door' light on the dash maybe? Thanks for your help btw!
