just joined up to express my thanks for all of the knowledge that is presented by this group. i bought a 97 extended cab v6 4x4 tacoma in 1997. it now has 225k miles on it and i was considering trading it in for a new one, but after suffering the sticker shock associated with a new rig i decided to do a little work on the one i already have. thanks to all the tips and insights i found on this forum i now feel like i have a brand new 11 year old truck.

Good deal on taking care of your 97, I was planning on getting an 02 - 04 TRD Tacoma back during the summer but found (for half the price) my 96 extracab, sunroof, 3.4, lifted with new 33's, matching canopy, and 5-speed. The guy that sold it loved it but was sick of the vibrations and a few other items. Well, I had the driveshaft rebuilt, installed a new T-belt etc, new CV shafts and its very smooth and runs great. I love it! And with the money I saved, I bought a complete new home theatre....no complaints at all.
