96 tacoma want to upgrade from HB1 sealed beam headlight

My tacoma has sealed beam headlights. They are very dim and thought I'm a lighting newbie I am looking at upgrades. Currently the only two options I can come up with are a separate housing/h4 bulb, like this housing:

these are just examples and i'd probably go for higher end parts.

What have you seen as far as sealed beam replacements?

Keep in mind HID conversions and many aftermarket H4 headlights are not legal for road use. The stock headlights on my 96 were pathetic. I put some regular high output sealed beam replacements in it from the local Advance auto and was amazed at the difference. I've used the Hella H4 conversion lights in the past too. They are quite impressive.
