mount

I just bought 2 pairs of rectangular driving lights. Thinking about using one pair to assist my regular headlights and one pair to assist high beams. What did you use to cut the valence? Is the mounting pretty secure in the sense that, does it shake/vibrate when driving?
In Va there is a annual safety inspection that includes making sure that fog lights are wired to activate only on low beams and driving lamps only during high beam operation. This is the legal setup in many states but its not always enforced. Something to consider. I used to wire my lamps independently but it was a PITA to correct it every year before inspection. The valence I cut with a Dremel tool witch melted the plastic just from the friction leaving relativly clean cuts. I also found that a carpet knife or a box cutter when heated till the blades red hot goes through it like butter. Here's a link where this was briefly discussed. I also reinforced the lights by placing a standard bracket from Home Depot along the underside of the valence to stiffen and mount the lights through the preexisting holes. This keeps the lights as firm as the headlamps with no rattling or vibration even on dirt & gravel roads.Hope this helps.

hmmm...not in Texas that i'm aware of. If anything i can just hide the buttons.

If anything they would be going after my clear tailights. So far the cops have only pulled me over for white light in the rear because the red silicon cover for my brake bulb had faded away from the heat. Tht was solved using Led brake bulbs.

Oh yah, i was told to have reflectors also in the back. If anything i doubt i would get cited. The inspection part is ez to pass. Just got to know someone

Thanks

Davi

ps There's no fog in Texas, just a buncha deer.
I used a dremel to cut the valence. Its pretty easy to cut.

I used the "factory" Toyota-Hella brackets, they are very sturdy. I just need to quit breaking lenses!
