88 V6 Auto Low RMP noise HELP!
Hi everyone, I am new here and have a few questions that you all may be able to help me with! My truck, a 1988 V6 auto with 140,000 1 owner babied miles makes almost a knock like sound when I am in 1st gear pulling out like on a hill wile giving it very little gas. The dealer told me that it was a wrist pin in the number 1 but it has made this sound for as long as I can remember, it just seems to be louder! There is NO noise at idle or while revving it in N or at highway speeds! The oil has always been changed and it is actually over maintained! I am not sure if its timing related, or really is an internal engine issue. The only mods I have done to the engine are a full K&N intake, and a Borla cat back. I am getting ready to order a set of Downey headers unless my engine is starting to go!
