I did a SAS on my 91 pu. I found an 85 4Runner axle in a local junk yard. I sugguest just calling junkyards and asking for either an 84/85 truck or 4Runner axle. Good luck! It's a lot of work but it is well worth it!

Ditto, pirate isn't a bad place to look, expect to pay 200-300 bucks for a complete axle.

The Pick-n-Pull in Oakland had a complete '85 Solid Front Axle... Don't know how far that is from you though. But check your local yards!

i could never figure out what's wrong with an earlier axle. more ground clearance, you can still weld a truss on top, and you can use round u-bolts instead of square ones
