Put a fuel pressure gauge on and check pressure.
The fact your not getting more codes makes me wonder if the ECM got wet.
I went through 3 before I moved mine parallel to the heater box and off the door post
I can`t see what filling the truck up with gas has to do with the no start issue as I only fill me tank when I get gas.
Real time data sounds like a good idea

You have to remember it is the complete Cam Sensor Circuit !! Might be a corroded plug open circuit in the wiring
Thing is the ECM if it does not see the cam sensor signal It will shut off the fuel which does not seem to be occurring from your posts

I'll try cleaning the connection and tracing wires, so if I unplug the sensor while it's running it should shut the fuel off?

Ok because I've unplugged it while it was running and never really made that big of a difference. Hopefully have a new ecm Monday to try out and I'll take some sand paper to the pins in the connector to the cps
