5VZ-FE & 3VZ-FE Distributor compatibility GURU HELP Please
Im looking at installing a megasquirt V2 on my twin turbo 5VZ-FE.
The problem is that Im currently running the stock distributorless 4runner coil pack setup. As you know the Toyota ECU manages the coil pack fireing order and dwell directly through an ignitor pack. That means that the ECU has outputs for EACH coil. Obviously the MS-EMS is not capable of running my system. There are workarounds but it would be SO much easier if I could just put a distro on there. I know some of you are thinking that the distro would hit the firewall in a 4runner but my engine is mounted transverse so there is plenty of room
Here is what I need. The 5VZ has 2 spots on the cyl head that were cast for a distro. BUT no 5VZ-FE I know of came with one. So, I think the 3VZ-FE distro may fit up, given I put a notch in the end of a 5VZ cam. I NEED someone to take a bunch of pics of a 3VZ-FE/1MZ-FE distributor input shaft OR send me an old broken 3VZ-FE distributor (ill pay shipping ). A 1MZ distro may work too aswell but its less likely.
Any helpfull input would be appriciated.

i know the early('95-97??) 3RZ had a distributor, maybe the early 5VZ was the same?
i'd think they'd fit, given that toyota usually has interchangeable dizzys, though the twin cam heads might be different(if the distributor is run off one of the camgears like a 22R)

Well, I think I will look into using the 3S-GTE housing since its designed to connect to a cam directly. I can then put a V6 cap and rotor onto it. Hmm I wish there was an easier way than doing this or putting the ford ignition control onto my motor. Anybody else have any input/experiance with this?
