4th gen seats?
I plan on getting a 4th gen SR5 with upgraded leather seats. I saw on another forum that someone said they hated their '03 SR5 because the seats were "junk". Now aren't all the seats the same? Could any 4th gen owners chime in with their opinions on their seats? Like/dislike??

I have an 03 Sport.
The stock seats have a slightly different trim in the Sport.
To me, they are more comfortable than the 99 seats which looked much better but killed my lower back on long runs.
(I am over 6' tall BTW)

Seats on my Sport are great. They are a 110% improvement from my '02 Sport seats, which like Nrgetic, killed my back after about thirty minutes of driving. I am 6' and have absolutely no complaints about the seats or driving position.

I drive a sr5 and I have no problems with my seats. Don't know where some of the members are having problems? I must be way too humble of a guy! hehe

I have no problems with the confort of my seats on my 03 4runner sport. I'm 5'11" so I'm not as tall as others, but they were confortable for me on long trips. I will admit that I think Toyota could have done a better job with the seat rails, because I can feel a little movement going around sharp corners (seat moves from side to side on the rails).

Im over 6ft and no problem with the seats other then their firm but I have driven over an hour in it and no problems.
I wonder if I could swap the seats out of a 03 or newer ES300/330 cause those seats are comfortable

I have the '03 SR5 with stock cloth seats. Now have 9.5k on it with a 3k trip consisting of 2 12 hr days each way. My only complaint, which is minor, is the seat height adjustment is not very extensive. I would like to have it lower more than it does. I'm 6', and my hats hit the roof when sunroof shield is closed. Comfort wise I am very satisfied, and so far no seat movement while driving.

My '03 Sport's seats are comfortable. I've taken some long drives, and it's not bad.
However, I don't like the fabric that they used on my seats.
It seems to be a magnet for fuzz off of my pants and shorts. Every month or so I have to run one of those lint-remover rollers over the seats to clean 'em up.
The seats are dark gray and the fuzz is white. It looks bad after a while.
Is anybody else having this problem? I haven't heard of anyone else griping about it.
Maybe I should drive naked.

I maybe the only one but I dont think the 4runner is designed for drivers 6 ft and over. It depends on if you like to lay seat back some. Try sitting up straight like in a regular chair. Headroom problems and your line of sight is right in line with the sun visor. I have been in small economy cars that give you more headroom & windshield space above your line of sight including my small nissan truck & mazda protege & the lexus IS300. Cant see how anybody would ever want to raise the seat. If first at a traffic light have to bend way over to see light. I can just handle it since I removed divers side main visor for the extra view. Still love the 4runner but should have spent more time on test drive. I hear the lexus is taller and had more designed for height of americans.

I've got the SR5, and the seats are fine. Have two long trips (1,000 miles and 1,600 miles) without problem. A trip that long in the Camry would have made my back hurt.
Don't like leather seats, so I stick with the cloth.
Funny to see the different ways people adjust the seat -- I raise it just a bit because it creates a more comfortable foot/leg position for the accelerator.

Leather Seats
Prior to my purchasing my 2003 V8 Sport 4x4, I got to put a couple of thousand miles on my partner's 2003 V8 LTD 4x4 with, of course, leather seats. They are great. The power adjustment works well. The leather is a bit stiff compared to more expensive vehicles, but you get what you pay for! This isn't BMW, Audi or Mercedes leather. Nonetheless, very comfortable. I personally like the feel of the cloth a bit better. Very cozy. I do agree that the Sport cloth seats are magnets for lint. Either is a fine choice...but definitely get XREAS. After driving both, I have found it to be a definite improvement.

Mine are factory leather power adjustable and I will NEVER go back to cloth.
I had the Recaro seats in my 93 and my back would hurt after an hour. I drove about 4 hours yesterday and never felt any discomfort or fatigue.

I have the seat covers now so it's become a non-issue for me.
I like the seats too. That's one of the things I really like in the truck!

I'm please with the leather seats in mine, pretty comfy. I wish the side bolsters were larger, but that is more of a statement about my driving habits than of the seats themselves.
