Question 4Runners VS offroading

Is there any good year (before 95, cause i don't got much money ) of 4runner that is good for offroading? or better then the other ones? also, is there any differance in ground clearance between the different years/generations?

A solid axle first gen would be really nice (84-85). 85 even had fuel injection and an optional turbo.

All 2nd gens (90-95) are essentially the same - no factory locker offered only different gear ratios depending on engine and tire size.

3rd gens (96-02) are really nice. More power and a lot of aftermarket support not to mention an optional factory electric locker.

If you really want this just for offroad, get an '85. In your price range (or any, really) they are the best for only offroad. Not to say that they aren't nice onroad, they just aren't a 3rd gen with leather and power seats and heated mirrors Solid axle is the best for offroad!
