4Runner OEM gear ratio
I bought my 4Runner some three years ago. I imported it from Germany and it has (no, had) the 3.0 V6 with manual tranny. When re-gearing I found that it was equiped with a 4.3 gear ratio.
Unfortunately I have no idea what the original tyre size was.I now am running 31's with 4.56 gear ratio. It seems to make not enough revs when cruisin (gear ratio to low?) but my speedometer is working properly.
What is the OEM setup on a '90 4Runner with V6 and manual? Combined with what size tyres?
I would like to get the ratio correct the first time when re-gearing again.

Any Toyota dealer should be able to tell you by the VIN. I know the info on my doorjamb sticker is incorrect. The gearing is right G144 = 4.88's, but it says mine came with 225's. I know that it came from the factory with 31's. I'm assuming the VIN tells all. If it came from Germany, maybe you need to call a Toyota dealer in Germany??
