I hate to see that, sorry to hear. At least if someone hit you while you were driving, you'd have a physical being there to vent-off on and hopefully a better story to tell.

Unfortunately salvage isn't an option. I live in a townhome & don't have any good storage space. I removed my new Nav/ headunit & converted back from the cupholder mod. Removed my LED Dome lights. Now I need to remove my IPF offfroad lights & the Sears Die Hard Platinum I just had installed.

Sorry Man.... Hey that truck really doesn't look that bad. I wouldn't start taking it apart. When the adjuster comes out you want to make that thing look like its worth as much as possible. Add the tires and any other mods to the estimated worth of the vehicle.

The rear quarter panel can be found at a a junk yard for relatively cheap. From the pictures there doesn't seem to be any frame damage. All those chassis parts underneath are "bolt-on" so the labor isn't that bad.

If you really don't want it totaled I think you could convince the adjuster.

I only posted the most dramatic pics. From what I can tell, the left side is tweaked at least to the B pillar, left rear door is damaged. The truck was shoved into the curb pretty hard. I think the axle is bent, the 5 link is bent, possible drive shaft damage, right front suspension is bent. The rear hatch is tweaked. There appears to be a hump in the cargo floor that wasn't there before. If you look at the rear with the hatch open, the body shell appears to be out of square. The right side doors are slightly mis-aligned. At least 1 rear shock is broken. If the left rear spring is damaged, they all need to be replaced since they are no longer available.

Not sure how insurance works where you live...in canada there is Public Insurance "government" and they pay the best... 200$ deductible.....my truck, if I were to write it off...I would get anywhere from 11-15G's $ cause its a very clean unit with low mileage. So basically what I paid. My truck insurance yearly is about 1700$ I can't complain about my Insurance Corporation....they have low rates and pay out well. I hope you get a decent amount to buy a new 4Runner.

paul, if you want to buy it back and part it out, we can probably work a deal, my garage is set up w/ an engine hoist, air compressor, and what tools i don't have here, i have at work, so its just a matter of bringing them home. I'm out in the north part of fontana, so not too far away.

As far as a replacement, you might check out fallbrook motors, down in fallbrook, (closer to san diego off the 15). Thats where i found my 2000, and i know 4runners and tacomas are some of the vehicles he tends to bring in from the auctions on a regular basis.

Yeah people say that your insurance doesn't go up. Think again. I got hit on Christmas day. Police determined other driver at fault. Other party's ins. didn't disagree and accepted full liability. I had to switch carriers and every carrier I went to had a surcharge for me being in a recent wreck. I asked why and they said that the additional cost was lower than if I was at fault. I was pissed how could I be charrged more when I've had a perfect record, no prior claims and then get charged. They said basically if you don't have a perfect history regardless of fault there is going to be some sort of increase.
