4Runner and HID Upgrade
I was planning on ordering an HID Kit for my 4Runner, but I am a little concerned after talking to Jason B tonight. He said that the 4Runner lamp enclosures are not designed for the HIDs and that they disperse the light in a way which blinds oncoming drivers. Anyone who's done the HID upgrade got an opinion or experience with this? Here's the kit I was going to order...

It's true that they aren't designed for it, most HID lights are put in projector lenses. However, several people on this board have done the swap and can tell you for sure what kind of results they got. From everything I've heard in previous posts, there have been no complaints. You might want to do a search on the Outdoorwire forum and see what comes up.

Well, it depends on the kit you get. You do run the risk of blinding other drivers with a HID kit in a NON designed HID housing, but some have made out ok on here. Hopefully, those people will chime in and tell you what works good for them.
Here is a clipping from a huge 12 page .pdf I have about hids.
