4runner acting weird (not starting, checkengine light)
Today I tried starting the truck and it wouldn`t turn over . I checked the battery and the lights were bright . I tried several times turnning the key but nothing happened . I thought it might be the starter .I again tried to started and it started . I drove it aound the corner so I can clean my driveway .The check engine light would not go out .An hour later it took me three tries before the engine would turn over .But this time the check engine light did not stay on . I waited an hour tried starting it again and it started no problem .Could this be a starter problem ? If not any other ideas ?

I would check with a different battery. Bright lights doesn't necessarily mean a good battery, the amps needed to start the engine is a lot more than to power lights. I speak from experience, lol. I thought bright lights meant good battery too, but replacing the battery did the trick.

I've heard that its not the starter that goes out, its the starter contacts or something like that. I just talked to a guy on it a few days ago. He said it is a common problem with the 4Runners. He described it exactly like your problem, when you try to start it, it just clicks, he said it will go on for about a month, and then you wont get anything.
That would most likely explain your CEL too.

I replaced the battery two days ago .I went to fill up the truck today and it wouldn`t start. I had to turn the key 6 to 7 times before it started .
Could it be the starter ?I have 135 495 km on the truck.

Probably the starter, most likely the contacts in the starter. With starters the mileage doesn't really matter, it's the number of times you start the truck that counts.
But it could also be the ignition switch. Connect the positive battery terminal directly to the starter and see if that helps.

For sure, check out the copper contacts inside the starter solenoid. Far less money than replacing the starter:

The clicking you are hearing is either the starter solenoid itself or the circuit opening relay. They always click when you turn the key, it is just that normally the click is masked by the sound of the starter turning the engine over.
