3vz-e questions
Ok, I've got the 3.0L V-6 in my 90 pickup. It's getting up there in miles, 160,000. I know it isn't really high, but my problem is that it has an oil leak comming from somewhere behind the engine. When I look up there I can't find where it's coming from exactly. I do see oil coming from a seal below the headers. I'm not sure if that's the head gasket, but I've been checking my radiator quite a bit to look for oil. Good thing is, there is none in it. I'll probably take it to a shop or the dealership to find out what's up. I've also been pondering a new engine. I'm going to college next year in Montana. If i'm there for 4-5 years I would imagine that the engine wouldn't last that long. I'm wondering where I can get a rebuilt engine for a good price? Well if anyone can help me out that would be great.

Unless that leak gets serious, I'd run that engine for the 4-5 years. It looks like you average about 13,300 miles/year. 5 more years would add about 66,000, totaling 226,000 if my math is correct.
My '90 had 210,000 when I sold it to a friend. It never needed any major engine work. My friend has added 15,000 miles since then and still no problem.
I'd check out the leak before I waste money on a new or rebuilt engine.

Check to see if your engine falls under the headgasket recall campaign. You might even get a new block out of it. many have. Just call the dealer and have the VIN number ready.
